1. You will question whether it came from the Holy Ghost or if it was just your own thoughts.

3. The prompting will almost always be inconvenient.  It will rarely say, “Keep going where you’re going; keep doing what you’re doing.” It will more likely say, “Turn around in the opposite direction and do something that doesn’t make any rational sense to you at all.”

It’s not very often that the spirit enlightens us to do nothing.  There is usually action required of us.

We can prepare our homes and our children to feel the still, small voice. “Many teachers of foreign languages believe that children learn a language best in ‘immersion programs,’ in which they are surrounded by other speakers of the language and called upon to speak it themselves. They learn not just to say words, but to speak fluently and even to think in the new language.
