Marilyn Hulme on Mary and Martha.  When we meet them in heaven we’ll say “Oh, you’re the one….”  But both Mary and Martha have good qualities.  We have both women inside of us.  If Christ were coming – you’d clean too.  Think about the great preparations.  There are certain “Martha things” we have to do.  Martha has to clear away the chaos to make way for Mary’s spiritual experiences.

When Martha things stand in the way of your spiritual progress – that is the problem.  You need to simplify or eliminate.  Write down your top priorities – then fill in the blanks with important choices.  Don’t just copy other women’s priorities.  What’s good for you isn’t always good for others.

Mary and Martha quote in “Jesus the Christ” – Physical needs must be met before spiritual needs can be met.  It’s the same concept as a Relief Society president delegating all responsibilities so she can simply do welfare. It is also true with mothers.  Mary went to care for Christ’s body at the tomb. She found spiritual experiences while doing menial tasks.
